Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period Dec 14-20, 2020.
 
Women’s Basketball - Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Abbie Johnson was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Johnson, six-foot-two senior forward, was one rebound away from two double-doubles this weekend and hit the mark in Sunday’s upset over No. 6 Carroll College. The Cashmere, Wash., native scored 10 points in the Warriors’ loss, before turning around to post 14 points and 11 rebounds in LC State’s 60-50 upset victory.
 

 
Men’s Basketball - Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Damek Mitchell was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Mitchell, a five-foot-nine senior guard, joined the Warriors top 10 in all-time scoring over the weekend, hitting a mark of 1,091 points. The Bellingham, Wash., native averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in back-to-back road wins against an NCAA DIII Top 20 team in Whitworth. He is also now third all-time in three-pointers made (154).
 

 
Men’s Wrestling - Wrestler
Montana State-Northern’s Kaleb Frank was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Frank, a redshirt-sophomore 125-pounder, helped MSUN go undefeated in four duals on Saturday. The Thompson Falls, Mont., native opened with a pin in 1:37 and followed with two decision wins.
