CORVALLIS, Ore. The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2020.
 
Women’s Basketball - Player
College of Idaho’s Lexi Mitchell was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Mitchell, a five-foot-10 sophomore guard, was the high-scorer for the Yotes in both the season opener at Boise State and the final game of the weekend at Montana Western, scoring 12 points in each game. The Middleton, Idaho, native finished the weekend shooting 9-for-16 from the floor, with a 2-for-3 performance from beyond the arc. She also grabbed 17 rebounds, had two blocks and two assists. 
 
 
Men’s Basketball - Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Damek Mitchell was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Mitchell, a five-foot-nine senior guard, led a strong LC State team into its first games of the season and leads the team in scoring and assists after two games. The Bellingham, Wash., native averaged 14.5 points per game, including an 18-point performance in game two on Saturday. He was 4-for-5 from 3-point range in the game and 6-for-9 overall (66.7 percent). Mitchell is shooting 60 percent from the field and dished out nine assists in two games. He was one of the team's top rebounders with nine over the weekend.
 
 
Men’s Wrestling - Wrestler
Arizona Christian University’s Chris Kelly was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Kelly, a freshman 141-pounder, had a big weekend, defeating the No. 11-ranked wrestler in the 141-pound weight class with an 8-2 decision. The St. Paris, Ohio, native remained undefeated with his second-straight win, both of which have been over top-20 opponents.
