ATHERTON, Calif. – The No. 8 ranked Lady Owls (6-2) fell to Menlo College (6-4) 2-1 in their first game on Saturday afternoon in 9-inning battle, but kicked up the effort in the nightcap, with two homers sending them to a 4-1 advantage in game 2.

Oregon Tech kicked things off in the first game with a run in the top of the first. The Oaks, however, managed to tie things up with a run of their own in the third inning.
The tie held through the seventh inning as the two teams struggled to score, extending the game to an extra eighth and ninth inning. Menlo scored the tiebreaker in the ninth, batting in the game winner off a single to take the game 2-1.
Neenah Pangilinan scored two hits for the Owls and scored the single run. Aubrie Businger notched a single hit that batted in OIT's sole run.
Tech pitcher Sarah Abramson struck out 15.
Game 2 Oregon Tech 4 Menlo University 1
Menlo opened up in the second game, scoring a single run in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead before the Lady Owls scored in the sixth to tie things up.
Oregon Tech cut the prospect of another extended game short in the top of the seventh as Mackenzie Driscoll (Pictured) homered to break the tie in the Owls favor and Businger hit a home run of her own to send two across home plate and cement the win.
Emily McAdams, Pangilinan, McKenna Armantrout and Driscoll each tallied two hits in the game, with Tech outhitting the Oaks 10-2.
The Lady Owls will take on Menlo College in a second doubleheader tomorrow, with games starting at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in Atherton, California. The Owls will then travel to Salem, Oregon to take on Corban University on the 21
st and 22
nd, with games at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm Friday and 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Saturday to start Cascade Conference play. .
