Campbell's Triple-Double Leads Lions Past Warriors on Senior Night

PORTLAND, Ore. – In their final home game of the season, the MU women's basketball team (5-19, 2-15 CCC) matched-up against the Warriors from Corban (15-11, 11-7 CCC) on Saturday night at Jim Skagen court. The Lions impressed on senior night and pulled out a 63-47 victory behind a dominating performance from Erykah Campbell who collected a triple-double.

Campbell was everywhere for the Lions, finishing the night with 11 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

The Lions got an all-out effort from Alaygza Portis who was red-hot from downtown, hitting 6 of 9 three pointers on her way to 27 points. Jessica Parker added 10 points off the Lions bench and Rachelle Tau added 8.

For the Warriors, Shaelie Burgess collected a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds while Shawnie Spink scored 10 points with 7 assists.

The Lions are honored three seniors on the night: Erykah Campbell, Rachelle Tau, and Kayla Alvarez.

Erykah Campbell has had a standout senior season, currently leading the Lions in scoring and coming into tonight's game averaging an impressive 12.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game. In her second year at Multnomah, Campbell is currently second in the nation with 86 blocks on the season.

Rachelle Tau has been a solid presence inside for the Lions this year, averaging 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds. Tau is the all-time leader in FG% in Multnomah history, and will be remembered as one of the most efficient players to ever wear the green and gold.

In her 44 games played, Kayla Alvarez has career averages of 3.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals. Kayla has established herself as a leader for the Lions over the past two seasons, and she will go down as one of the best passers to ever be a part of the women's basketball program.

The Lions final two games of the season are next weekend at Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech at 5:30 PM.
