Yotes Hold at No. 1 in Latest NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – College of Idaho remains No. 1 spot for the second week in a row of the NAIA DII Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Yotes captured all 12 first-place votes this week.
Three Cascade Collegiate Conference teams remain in the top-10, with C of I leading the charge. The Yotes are on a historic run and won the CCC regular-season title by becoming the first team to go a perfect 20-0. Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech held at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.

Top 25 Highlights
- The No. 1 Yotes have won 21 straight games and finished Cascade Collegiate Conference play undefeated at 20-0, which is the first time in conference history. They are playing at an impressive level lately. Beating their last four opponents by 46, 21, 42 and 15.
- The top eight remained the same from the previous poll (Feb. 19)
- Holy Cross (Ind.) moved up to spots to crack the top ten. The Saints have won 13 games straight and tied Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) for conference regular season championship.
- Madonna (Mich.) and WVU Tech (W.Va.) both improved five spots this week
- There were three newcomers to the poll including: No. 23 Indiana East, No. 24 Spring Arbor (Mich.) and No. 25 Southwestern (Kan.).
- Indiana Wesleyan holds the longest active streak in the poll with 90-straight appearances.
Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
