Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Jan. 27-Feb. 2, 2020.
Men’s Basketball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Mitchell Fink was named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Two weeks after becoming Oregon Tech’s All-time career assists leader, the six-foot-one senior guard from Clackamas, Ore., scored 40 points Friday night and added 29 more Saturday in a pair of key wins. Fink’s 69-point weekend moved him into second on OIT’s all-time scoring list. He finished the week averaging 34.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Fink was 24-for-48 from the floor and missed just one of his 14 free throws.

Women’s Basketball – Player
Northwest Christian University’s Kayce Mock was named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The six-foot junior forward from Sutherlin, Ore., had a breakout week for the Beacons as NCU rolled to three wins and remained alone in first-place in the CCC. Against Corban University, Mock hit seven three-pointers to come within one of the NCU record. In night-two of the Walla Walla University weekend, she broke NCU's single-season rebounding record and posted the first 20-point/20-rebound game in school history. Mock finished the week averaging 19.7 points, 15.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.7 steals per game. She also shot 63.6-percent from the floor, including an impressive 62.5-percent from beyond the arc.

Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
Eastern Oregon University’s Marco Retano was named the Red Lion Men’s Wrestler of the Week, his second award of the year.
The 11th-ranked junior 184-pounder from Culver, Ore., defeated the No. 4 ranked NJCAA wrestler in Hunter Gregorson 18-5 and the No. 13 NAIA ranked wrestler in Hayden Schrull as he went 2-1 on the busy weekend for the Mountaineers.

Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
The University of Providence’s Tatum Sparks was named the Red Lion Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
The second-ranked 155-pound senior from Othello, Wash., beat two ranked opponents, including a pin against fourth-ranked Gladdys Palma from Southern Oregon University.

Men’s Indoor Track and Field – Field Athlete
Southern Oregon University’s Joseph Dotson was named the Red Lion Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Florence, Ore., scored 4,873 in his indoor heptathlon season debut, landing at No. 5 on the NAIA performance list. Dotson had a two-second personal record in the 1K finale with a time of two minutes, 41.5 seconds for 857 points.
Women’s Indoor Track and Field – Track Athlete
Southern Oregon University’s Arianna Daniel was named the Red Lion Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Daniel, a senior from Elk Grove, Calif., went to No. 13 on the NAIA 400-meter performance list with a B-standard mark of 58.84 seconds in her season debut. She also finished the 200m in 25.97 seconds.

Baseball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Dimick Wood was named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The five-foot-10 junior from Boise, Idaho, had a dominant performance against No. 14-ranked William Jessup - tossing six one-hit innings, walking two and striking out five to pick up C of I's first win of 2020. He also helped C of I keep WJU without a runner to reach third base.
Baseball – Player
College of Idaho’s Jonah Hultberg was named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
The five-foot-11 freshman catcher from Boise, Idaho, hit safely in all four games against 14
th-ranked William Jessup. He had a double, a home run and four RBI on the week, boasting a .500 batting average.
Softball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Hannah McNerney was named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The five-foot-11 sophomore from Hood River, Ore., was the workhorse for the Coyotes in Arizona, pitching over 25 innings in the circle. She tossed a three-hit shutout in a win over No. 11-ranked Hope International and finished the week with a 0.400 ERA with 14 strikeouts.

Softball – Player
College of Idaho’s Trystin Crofts was named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
The five-foot-five senior third baseman from Tooele, Utah, led the Yotes with 12 hits and 10 runs, hitting a pair of home runs and driving in seven RBI. She finished the Arizona trip boasting a .480 batting average and a .800 slugging percentage. Crofts also drew three walks and was a perfect 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts.
