Walla Walla Men's Basketball Falls to Eastern Oregon in Close Game
College Place, Wash. - Walla Walla men’s basketball team started the night off strong, creating a lead with 18 points within the first five minutes of the first half. This lead was diminished after Eastern Oregon called a timeout. After that timeout the Mountaineers came back to close the gap to seven points (18-11). Eastern Oregon continued to close the gap until they gained a 10-point lead going into the half (29-39).
In the second half Walla Walla continued to fight back for control of the game, closing the gap multiple times throughout the second half. The Wolves had 51 points in the second half compared to the Mountaineers 47 points. Yet that wasn’t enough for them to secure the game. The Wolves fell to the Mountaineers, 80-86.
Eastern Oregon’s shooting percentage from the three was unmatched. They shot 52% from the three compared to Walla Walla’s 35.3%.
Walla Walla was led by Kiandre Gaddy with 26 points, and both the Browning brothers helped by putting 20+ points on the board (Dylan Browning had 21 points, Zayne Browning had 22 points). Max McCullough led the Mountaineers with 27 points.
Walla Walla and Eastern Oregon will face each other again, Sunday (2/9) at 4pm back at Windemuth Court in College Place, Washington.
