PREVIEW: Inaugural CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship Presented By U.S. Bank Ready to Commence
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The first-ever Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Sunday in Ashland, Ore.
No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon University hosts the tournament, with No. 2-ranked Menlo College predicted to win the team title. The Oaks have four grapplers ranked in the top spots of their respective weight classes: Alleida Martinez (109), Tiana Jackson (123), Solin Piearcy (143) and Precious Bell (170).
The top-three wrestlers at each weight class will earn themselves All-CCC honors. There is no qualifier for the 2020 NAIA Invitational yet, but teams can enter up to 12 grapplers in the invite.
Live streaming, results, up-to-date brackets, and information on the teams involved is available through the CCC Women’s Wrestling Tournament page at

The NAIA has recognized the sport as an offering at the national level and held their first Invitational last season in which Menlo was crowned the champion. Women’s wrestling must remain in the Invitational “status” for a minimum of three-years. After three-years, and if a minimum of forty institutions in the NAIA sponsor the sport, it will be considered for Championship status. Currently thirty programs are being sponsored. The 2020 NAIA Invitational will be held March 13-14 in Jamestown, N.D.
