CORVALLIS, Ore. – The College of Idaho athletic training staff was recognized as the 2019-20 Cascade Collegiate Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year, announced Tuesday.
Sienna Handegard, Clarissa Alexnder, and McKaela Laverty were the winners of a survey sent out to the CCC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee members and distributed to student-athletes around the conference.
“We are grateful for the care and attention our training staff provides for our student-athletes,” said College of Idaho Director of Athletics Reagan Rossi. “We appreciate their commitment and are blessed to have them as a part of our Yote Fam.”
Handegard is in her fourth year as a Certified Athletic Trainer at the College of Idaho. She works mainly with the volleyball, basketball and softball Coyote teams. Handegard graduted from Boise State in 2004 with a degree in athletic training and earned her master's degree in advanced athletic training from the University of Hawaii in 2012.
Alexander is in her second year as a Certified Athletic Trainer at C of I. Alexander graduated in 2015 from Boise State, where she worked in the athletic training department.
Laverty is in her second year as a certified athletic trainer at the College, working with the soccer, golf and lacrosse programs. Laverty is a 2011 graduate of Western Oregon University with a degree in exercise science and a 2013 graduate of California Baptist University’s athletic training master’s program; and previously worked at Warner Pacific University.
