Let's All Do Our Part
Dear CCC Community,
No doubt you are aware of the difficult decision made last week to delay our conference fall sports to winter/spring as a result of the continued issues in our region, and nationally with COVID-19. As I have stated many times, our motto in the conference is
#ThisIsTheCCC which represents unity, a commitment to each other and a commitment to excellence. This commitment is rooted in the health, safety and welfare of our student-athletes, faculty/staff and larger campus community as we navigate these challenging times.
Everyone was hopeful that we would be in a very different place headed into August and fall report dates. As the pandemic surged, we knew that the necessity of enacting contingency plans was becoming more a reality each day. Ultimately, we know that a successful opening to fall term, as well as, a sustained in-person learning experience is critical to your success as a student and the overall health and vibrancy of each campus. We also believe that this decision gives all of us the best opportunity to provide a full and uninterrupted athletic season for everyone.
Much work remains to be done, and our focus has now shifted to the details of creating a robust athletic experience for our fall sports in the winter/spring. While it may not include NAIA post-season, we will do all we can to make the experience as meaningful as possible.
I am calling on the 3000 CCC student-athletes to lead the way on your campus! If each of you will monitor your health, wear a mask, practice physical distancing and limit your own potential exposure to the virus, we will see the numbers reduced and return to sports sooner rather than later. If
#DoOurPart can become everyone’s goal we can be successful!
Sincerely,
Robert Cashell
