The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period Jan. 11-17, 2021.
Women’s Cross Country - Runner
Bushnell University’s Tea Chatelain was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Chatelain, a senior from Cloverdale, Ore., took first in the Beacons’ first competition of 2021 on a muddy and hilly course. She won the race by 16.4 seconds with a time of 15:38.
Men’s Cross Country - Runner
Corban University’s Robert Swoboda was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The senior from Ukiah, Calif., started off the 2021 season strong, battling hilly, wet conditions on Corban's campus en route to the individual title at Saturday's Corban Invite. Swoboda was in a league of his own at the event, finishing nearly 40 seconds before the runner-up finisher with a time of 20:31 in the 6K event.
Men’s Wrestling - Wrestler
Montana State University-Northern’s Connor Harris was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Harris, a redshirt-freshman from Havre, Mont., had a good weekend where he won by major decision 13-5 against Jamestown College's Jesus Murillo before moving up in weight to 157 pounds. At 157, he won by pin against Morningside's Brody Kacmarynski.
