Cottage Grove, Ore. – Oregon Tech clamed a decisive victory on Friday, claiming three of the top-four finishes to win the Bushnell Invitational at Middlefield Golf Course.
The Owls scored 34 points to beat out Northwest University by 14. Lewis-Clark State, previously ranked No. 13 in the NAIA Top-25 preseason poll, competed for the first time this season and took third (57) while host Bushnell University was in fourth (83).
Faith Widman (pictured) claimed the individual victory for the Owls, running the 5000-meter course in 18 minutes, 23.3 seconds. Teammate Delani Dietrich came in second (18:48.6) edging out a hard-charging Tea Chatelain from Bushnell University (18:48.8).
OIT’s Hannah Mason was fourth (18:56.4), followed by Ellie Summers from Northwest in fifth (19:02.2). LC was led by Rylee Brown in seventh-place (19:20.7).
