Under Armour Team of the Week Announced
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team has been selected as the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for December 28-January 3 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Lewis-Clark hosted Dickinson State University (N.D.) to close out 2020 and open up 2021 with games on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
In the finale of what can only be described as a trying year, the No. 7 Warriors handed the Blue Hawks an 89-85 defeat. Travis Yenor and Hodges Bailey each had 19-points while newcomer Nathan Fromm added 11-points. The Warriors shot 50.8 percent from the field (33-for-65) and were 16-for-20 from the free throw line with solid help from the bench chipping in 23-points.
If the Warriors had a New Year resolution to ensure the second game was not nearly as close, Jake Albright and crew did not disappoint. The Clarkston, Washington native had a double-double 24-points and 11-rebounds in the 86-68 win over DSU. The game also marked the100
th career victory for head coach Austin Johnson. Damek Mitchell added 22-points.
Lewis-Clark (6-0, 0-0 CCC) next action will be against William Jessup (Calif.) on Jan. 4 at The College of Idaho and then will head to Arizona for games against Benedictine-Mesa (Ariz.), Arizona Christian and Park University (Ariz.). Jan. 6 through Jan. 10.
