CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2020 Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, has been relocated to Lewiston, Idaho, announced Saturday by the conference office.

Oregon Tech was originally scheduled to host the championship meet, but due to current and likely sustained county metrics in Oregon – which have resulted in capacity limits of 50-75 individuals – Lewis-Clark State College will take over hosting rights. The event is still scheduled for March 26.

LC State has access to its own course, the LC State Cross Country Trail – which has held championship-level events before – and does not have the same capacity restrictions. The Warriors have agreed to take over the hosting responsibilities to offer the CCC student-athletes the best experience possible.

“With the uncertainty of what our cross country championships might look like in Oregon under the extreme risk metric, moving to a location that will accommodate single races with head-to-head competition is in the best interest of our student-athletes," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "I want to thank Lewis-Clark State AD Brooke Henze, coach Mike Collins and President Cynthia Pemberton for being willing to serve as hosts.”

OIT will retain hosting duties for the fall championship, which is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2021.
