LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State hosted the Inland Empire Championships on Saturday at the LC State Cross Country Trail, with Northwest, Eastern Oregon and Bushnell all making the trip to Lewiston.
The Warrior men were the top NAIA team with a third-place finish, led by Cole Olsen, while Northwest was the top women’s team from the Cascade Conference in eighth. Emily Adams was the top CCC finisher on the women’s side in 18
th.
On the men’s side, LC State was the top CCC team in third with 98 points. EOU finished fourth with 134, Northwest totaled 176 to take sixth, and Bushnell placed 15
th with 382. For the women, Northwest led the way with 198 points to finish eighth. LC was ninth with 202, EOU finished 12
th at 276 and Bushnell took 13
th with 354.
Olsen crossed the finish line fifth overall with a time of 24:33, and EOU’s Travis Running rounded out the top 10 at 24:52. LC’s Clayton VanDyke was 15
th (25:00) and Cristian Mendoza of EOU placed 19
th (25:15).
The Warriors’ Adams was the top finisher from the Cascade at 18
th with a time of 18:15. Northwest runners Kaylea Hartman and Ellie Summers placed 24
th (18:29) and 27
th, respectively, to help lead the Eagles to a seventh-place finish, just four points ahead of LC State. Michelle Herbes of Eastern Oregon took 38
th with a time of 18:48.
