CRESWELL, Ore. – Jackson Muramoto posted a 70-67—137 (-7) to win the Bushnell Fall Invitational and set a new two-round tournament school record at the Emerald Valley Golf Club on Monday.
Muramoto’s two-round score of 137 is two strokes ahead of the previous record that was set by Justin Ahrens (139) in 2009. His 67 on Monday is also the third-best round in school history and best since 2017.
“It was a solid day today,” said Muramoto. “I had fun, played really well and made a lot of birdies. The team played really well too so I’m looking forward to a fun spring season.”
Caden Stubbs also put himself in the record books on Monday, recording a 74-68—142 (-2), which is tied for the third-best two-round tournament score in school history. Stubbs finished the tournament in a three-way tie for second place with Willamette’s Alex Weirth and Lewis-Clark State’s Kristóf Panke.
Stubbs said, “The day started off interesting for me. I made a lot of birdies, made a couple of mistakes, but overall I had a very solid day. It was really cool to see a lot of my teammates play really well. It is looking good for the spring.”
Cole Radbourne (77-73—150) also finished among the top-ten for the Beacons, improving by four strokes on the second day to tie for 8
th place. Benjamin Lovrod (80-74—154) cut six strokes off on Monday to tie for 14
th. Alvaro Molina (81-82—163) placed 28
th, Connor Maloney (87-78—165) finished 31
st, Evan Zuvich (84-85—169) took 38
th and Jackson Findlay (86-87—173) placed 41
st. Muramoto, Radbourne and Molina competed as individuals.
The final team score were: Lewis-Clark State (591), Willamette (594), Corban (617), Skagit Valley CC (627), Bushnell (629), College of Idaho (647), Willamette “B” (679).
The Bushnell Fall Invite was the final tournament of the fall season for the Beacons. The team will be back in the spring for the Walla Walla Invitational on March 28-29.
