The Warriors shaved seven strokes off their first round for a second-day total of 305, their best of the season, to bring the team score to 617. Senior Alexandra Schmidt led LC State in a tie for third with a 3-over-par 147 after carding a 1-over 73 on the day.

The Warrior women finished 30 strokes behind leader No. 3 George Fox, and 22 behind No. 12 Pomona-Pitzer. LC finished 43 strokes ahead of Cascade Conference opponent Corban, who placed fourth.

Schmidt went 2-under on the front nine with a pair of birdies, and Kyla Currie put together her best round of her career with a 73.

“Third place in a field of with some top-ranked DIII teams was a great test for our girls,” Head Coach Brady Campbell said. “Alex played solid on her way to another top-three finish. Kyla played fantastic today and had a career-low to help us to our best round of the year. This week was great momentum for us and we take this into our final event of the fall in a couple of weeks.”

Currie had one of best performances of her career and finished tied for 10th with a 7-over par 151. Both Currie and Courtney Ockler improved by five strokes in their second rounds, with Ockler carding a two-round total of 159 to finish 15th. Deana Caruso finished in a tie for 16th (160), and Nicole Propheter finished her two rounds at 176 to take 29th.
