Coyotes’ Hunt, Basterrechea Grab CCC Postseason Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After leading the College of Idaho to its third Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, title in four years, Logan Hunt was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Runner of the Year while Austin Basterrechea was named the Men’s Coach of the Year. Bushnell University earned the Les Schwab Team Sportsmanship Award.
 
Hunt, a sophomore from Athol, Idaho, put in a dominant performance at the conference championship, blitzing a deep, quality field of 84 racers with an 8K time of 24 minutes, 52.10 seconds – beating out the runner-up by 11 seconds.
 
At the NAIA National Championship, Hunt was the highest CCC finisher and took third individually with a time of 24:58.9. He becomes just the third Coyote to win the conference’s top honor after Greg Montgomery (2011, 12) and Marcos Cervantes (2018).
 
Following the CCC championship race, Basterrechea grabbed his third Men’s Coach of the Year honor. The Coyotes scored 52 points at the conference championship, with all five scorers grabbing All-CCC honors.
