The following three CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during the period Nov. 22-28, 2021.
Women’s Basketball – Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Maddie Holm was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Holm, a sophomore forward from Saint Helens, Ore., notched two double-doubles in three games last week to help LC State to three victories. She scored a career-high 22 in Saturday's victory over Pacific Union and shot an efficient 81.8-percent from the field. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range in the game in which LC scored the fourth-most points in program history. Holm averaged 17.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, dished eight assists, had five steals, and blocked two shots.
Men’s Basketball – Player
Northwest University’s Tanner Davis was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Davis, a senior wing from Issaquah, Wash., posted two double-doubles to lift the Eagles to two victories, including the first CCC win of the year. He averaged 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. Davis also had five blocks, eight assists and two steals on the week.
Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
Vanguard University’s Steven Kroesen was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Kroesen, a 141-pound sophomore wrestler from Laguna Hills, Calif., finished first at the Life Pacific Open on Saturday. He posted three dominating victories with two tech falls and a pin. In his opening bout, he won by tech fall (17-2) over Bradley Dochter of Ottawa (Kan.). He then sent Joshua Paz of Life Pacific to the floor with a quality move and got the pin at the two minute, 11 second mark. In the first-place match, Kroesen earned another tech fall victory, 19-2, over Life Pacific's Shawheen Ghalambor.
