KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
RESULTS | A dominant performance by Logan Hunt lifted No.14-ranked College of Idaho to its third Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Cross Country Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, in four years at Running Y Resort on Friday.
With the victory, College of Idaho claims the automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship, taking place on November 19 and hosted by the CCC at Fort Vancouver in Vancouver, Wash. At-large bids will be announced on Nov. 9 by the NAIA office.
The Coyotes won by just four points, finishing with 52 points to edge out No. 12-ranked Lewis-Clark State College with 56 point. As was expected, the race was tightly contested as No. 15-ranked Oregon Tech came in third with 73 points and No. 8-ranked Southern Oregon University was three points behind the Owls to finish fourth. No. 20-ranked Eastern Oregon University wrapped up the top-five with 113 points and six points behind the Mounties was No. 24-ranked Northwest University.
After the race, College of Idaho's Austin Basterrechea was voted by his peers as the 2021 CCC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
