KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
RESULTS | No. 6-ranked College of Idaho captured its third-straight Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Cross Country Championshp, presented by U.S. Bank, Friday at the Running Y Ranch.
The Coyotes earn the CCC's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 19 with the victory, making their 14th-straight nationals appearance as a team. At-large bids to the NAIA Championship Meet will be announced on Nov. 9 by the NAIA office. C of I posted a score of 33 points, beating second-place finisher No. 13-ranked Southern Oregon University (87 points) by 54 points.
C of I's Ellyse Tingelstad won the individual title, helping the Coyotes claim their eighth all-time CCC title, the most of any institution in league history. Tingelstad won the 5K with a time of 19 minutes, 6.3 seconds. Fellow Coyote Sage Martin was right on her tail with a time of 19:14.4 for second place. Multnomah University's Shiloh Mounce rounded out the top-three with a time of 19:19.8.
After the race, College of Idaho's Austin Basterrechea was voted by his peers as the 2021 CCC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
