#13 Oregon Tech Drops Hard-Fought Battle to William Jessup

ROCKLIN, Calif. – No.13 Oregon Tech (0-2) battled hard, but ultimately fell to William Jessup (3-0) on Saturday evening. The loss for Tech was their second in as many days, but there were major improvements made in the span of 24 hours.

"We competed better tonight and held another opponent under 70 points," said head coach Justin Parnell. "We went 6-for-33 from 3-point range on the weekend and had 14 and 17 turnovers. We must be sharper offensively and we will start to win some ball games. We found out a lot about ourselves this weekend."

In the first half, Tech played Jessup to a first half tie, with the score being knotted at 29 through the first 20 minutes.

Tech shot nearly 50% from the field, which is a big improvement from game 1.

However, the Hustlin' Owls shot a mere 20% from three which kept them from grabbing a substantial lead.

In the second period, Tech shot it well from two again, but 16% from three which couldn't catch them up to Jessup's 55% from two.

Tech would have some chances down the stretch to tie or take the lead but ultimately came up unsuccessful in defeat.

Tech was led by Jamison Guerra (#2 Pictured) who had 15 points on 7-12 shooting, while adding 7 assists.

Tech will look to bounce back and grab their first victory when they host the Lithia Classic next weekend with games starting Friday at 5:30 p.m. as Southern Oregon takes on William Jessup University, then Oregon Tech will play Embry-Riddle University at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, SOU plays Embry-Riddle at 5:30 p.m. and Tech will get a chance at revenge against William Jessup at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.oregontechowls.com/tickets
