NU’s Wright, OIT’s Miller Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America® NAIA Women’s Soccer Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Two Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes were named to the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s soccer team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Northwest University’s Callie Wright led the pair with a first-team selection, while Oregon Tech’s Maddie Miller grabbed second-team honors. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution, which both Wright and Miller proved to be.

Wright (3.85 GPA) started 20 games and registered nine goals and five assists for the Eagles this season. She earned first-team All-CCC and Academic All-Conference honors this season and was the first NU woman to earn the honor in any sport.

Miller (4.00 GPA) started every game for the Owls this year helping lead them to a school record 20-3-1 season. She had five goals and two assists on the year and was the first women’s soccer player from OIT to earn the honor.

The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 NAIA Academic All-America® teams.
