CORVALLIS, Ore. – One Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes was named to the Academic All-America® NAIA men’s soccer team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Oregon Tech’s Jake Mitchell represented the CCC with a first-team selection. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution, which Mitchell proved to be.
Mitchell (3.81 GPA) led his team to a program-best 17-1-3 record, finishing the year with 10 goals and four assists. He became the first men’s soccer Owl to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 NAIA Academic All-America® teams.
