CORVALLIS, Ore. – Two Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes were named to the Academic All-America® NAIA volleyball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Oregon Tech’s Nicole Reyes and Eastern Oregon University’s Cambree Scott both earned first-team honors. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution, which both Reyes and Scott proved to be.
Reyes (4.00 GPA) led the Owls to a program-best 24 wins and advancing to the NAIA final site for the first time in school history. She finished the year averaging 3.02 kills per set (10
th in the CCC) with 335 kills.
Scott (3.97 GPA) was the anchor on the Mountaineers offense and defense. She led the team in kills with 330 and averaged 2.66 per set. On defense, Scott was the leader in total blocks with 156 (first in CCC, fifth in NAIA) – 11 coming on a solo effort – to average 1.26 blocks per set (first in CCC, 10
th in the NAIA).
