CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference was well-represented on the 2021 NAIA American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region awards, released Friday by the AVCA.
Corban University’s Kim McLain was named the Northwest Region Co-Coach of the Year, while Avari Ridgway was named the Northwest Region Player of the Year after the pair helped the Warriors open the year with a program-best 19-match winning streak, and program-best record (30-3, .909 winning percentage).
Southern Oregon University’s Hailey Van Well earned the Northwest Region Freshman of the Year honor, and Bushnell University’s Callie Wilkins grabbed Northwest Region Defender of the Year.
Seven CCC athletes picked up first team All-Northwest Region distinctions in Northwest University’s Abigail Broussard, Bushnell’s Makenna Northern, Oregon Tech’s Nicole Reyes, Corban’s Ridgway and Rylee Troutman, and Eastern Oregon University’s Cambree Scott and Breanna Shaffer.
The Beacons also saw Shay Coons and Wilkins pick up Honorable Mention honors, along with Van Well, OIT’s Faith Houck-Wylie, The Evergreen State College’s Lily Stewart and Lewis-Clark State College’s Grecia Ung Enriquez.
