CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period Jan. 25-31, 2021.
Women’s Basketball - Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Jansen Edmiston was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Edmiston, a five-foot-nine senior guard from Hermiston, Ore., helped the Warriors to a split over the weekend against a resilient NCAA DII Montana State-Billings team. She averaged 13.5 points through the two games and grabbed 12 rebounds, had four assists and three steals.
Baseball - Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Luke Brewer was named the first Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Brewer, a six-foot-two freshman pitcher from Camas, Wash., picked up his first career save with two shutout innings in a wild 13-12 win over Midland for the Coyotes. He pitched two innings without allowing a hit and only one runner.

Oregon Tech’s Mitchel Swanson was named the first Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Player of the Week.
Swanson, a six-foot-one junior first baseman from Burlingame, Calif., had a huge debut weekend for Oregon Tech at the plate, going 4-for-9 with a homer, triple, and double. He scored twice and had four RBI. His slugging percentage was 1.111 for the weekend.
Softball - Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Katelyn Wilfert was named the first Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Wilfert, a five-foot-10 junior pitcher from Meridian, Idaho, tossed a complete game two-hit shutout at Arizona Christian, striking out seven in the Yotes’ win. She pitched 9.20 innings in the circle and finished with 10 strikeouts on the weekend.
Softball - Player
College of Idaho’s Trystin Croft was named the first Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Player of the Week.
Crofts, a five-foot-five senior third baseman from Tooele, Utah, reached base in all four games in Arizona for the Yotes. She went went 6-for-12 over the weekend and led the team with two doubles, six runs scored, six RBI and three stolen bases.
Men’s Wrestling - Wrestler
Corban University’s Cooper McCullough was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
McCullough, a 157-pound senior wrestler from Moses Lake, Wash., was dominant in his first action of the 2020-21 season over the weekend. In his debut match, he downed No. 20-ranked Conrado Lopez by way of major decision, before going on to pin (RV) Vanguard's Caleb Jones in the Warriors' second dual of the day.
Men’s Cross Country - Runner
Lewis-Clark State College’s Cole Olsen was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Olsen, a senior from Clearwater, Idaho, won the first race for LC State this season and helped lead the Warrior men to first place overall. The returning All-American paced the group from the start and won the race by four seconds, finishing with a time of 24 minutes, 50 seconds.
Women’s Cross Country - Runner
Oregon Tech’s Faith Widman was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Widman, a junior from Fairbanks, Alaska, had a break-out day at the Bushnell Invite, running 18:23 to win by 25 seconds. She led Oregon Tech to first place overall in the 5K event.
