LEWISTON, Idaho – The Warriors posted another 100-point game on Thursday night with a 107-53 rout of Multnomah in the Activity Center. The No. 4 LC State Men’s Basketball team (14-1) had five players in double-digits, including a career-high 13 points from Brennen Newsom. Trystan Bradley also tallied 13 for the Warriors in a game where every player that took the court scored.

“It’s hard to play a team back-to-back nights, especially a game where the margin was what it was yesterday, but I am very pleased with how our guys guarded today,” Head Coach Austin Johnson said “In fairness to Multnomah, those guys have tired legs. They drove over yesterday and got a lot of great looks early, they just didn’t go in.”

The younger players on the roster saw a lot of time on the court for the second straight night. The bench, led by freshmen Newsome and Oreon Courtney, combined for 62 of the Warriors’ 107 points.

“It is invaluable to get everybody minutes,” Johnson said. “We got to see some different lineups and see guys do different things. Overall, I am pleased. It was good to see the young guys play well. It was also good to see Trystan and Hodges (Bailey) hit some shots; Khalil (Stevenson) had some great looks. Silas, for a true freshman, looked pretty good this week.”

Similar to last night’s contest, LC State jumped out in front quickly. Bradley opened the half with the first eight Warrior points to put LC ahead 8-2. Back-to-back 3s by Hodges Bailey and Silas Bennion fueled the offense as the Warriors rallied on.

Khalil Stevenson sparked an eight-point run that saw LC State leading 22-6 by 10:27, and an even larger run of 14 widened the gap to 36-9 three minutes later. The Warriors answered a Multnomah basket with 13 points and the half closed with the Warriors in front 58-19.

Multnomah tried to build momentum with a 6-0 run in the first few minutes of the second half. Back-to-back buckets by Bailey snapped the streak and fed into a 12-point run by LC State to grow the advantage to 69-25.

The Warrior bench joined the action midway through the half with baskets from Will Abram, Grant Ellison and Newsom. A pair of 3s from Colton Spencer made it a 99-47 game with 3:27 to play. Free throws from Sam Stockton closed out the game with the Warriors in front 107-53.

Bradley and Newsom led the Warrior with 13 points each, while Bailey and Courtney each added 11. Stevenson scored 10 points. Abram led the defense with nine rebounds, and Jake Albright had eight.

The Warriors shot an efficient 52 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from 3-point range. They went 14-for-20 (70 percent) from the foul line. The LC State defense held the Lions to just 27 percent from the field and 20.9 percent from behind the arc.

The next scheduled contest is game one of the Cascade Conference Playoffs. LC State will host the College of Idaho in the first contest of the best-of-three series on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. Per Cascade Conference rules, fans will not be permitted in the Activity Center. The game will be streamed on the Warrior Sports Network for $9.99.
