Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following 17 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period Feb. 1-7, 2021.
 
Women’s Basketball - Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Jansen Edmiston was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the second week in a row.
 
Edmiston, a five-foot-nine senior guard from Hermiston, Ore., had another solid week for the Warriors and filled up the stat sheet. She totaled 31 points in two games against CCC opponents and dished out 13 assists. Edmiston was perfect from the free throw line, hitting all five of her attempts. She finished the week averaging 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
 
Men’s Basketball - Player
Northwest University’s Kelvin Omojola was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Omojola, a six-foot-one senior guard from Las Vegas, helped the Eagles battle a tough Seattle Pacific University — NU’s first non-NCAA Division I opponent. He nearly doubled his previous scoring career high of 14 points, finishing with 27 on the night. Omojola was 10-of-15 from the field, including an impressive 6-of-7 from three-point range. 
 
Baseball - Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Patrick Arman was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Arman, a six-foot-two freshman pitcher from Santa Clarita, Calif., had 10 strikeouts in seven strong innings picking up the win for the Owls on the road.
 
Baseball - Player
Oregon Tech’s Dalton Daily was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Daily, a six-foot-one junior shortstop from Visalia, Calif., had a huge weekend for the Owls at the plate, picking up nine hits in 20 at bats. He finished the week with a .450 batting average and .900 slugging percentage, with two home runs, seven RBI and six runs.
 
Softball - Pitcher
No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Gabby Sandoval was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Sandoval, a five-foot-three senior pitcher from Anaheim, Calif., threw her first no-hitter for the Raiders in a 12-0 run-rule victory over Simpson on Friday and turned around to take sole possession of the No. 11 spot on the NAIA career wins list with another complete game in Saturday's 4-1 win at William Jessup. She improved to 92-17 lifetime -- she's won 16 straight decisions dating back to 2019 -- while allowing one earned run over 14 innings on the weekend, also earning her CCC-record 12th career save.
 
Softball - Player
Top-ranked SOU’s Hannah Shimek was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Player of the Week.
 
Shimek, a five-foot-10 senior infielder from Bothell, Wash., sparked the Raiders from the top of the lineup with four multi-hit games and six of the team's 26 runs scored in a perfect opening weekend. She doubled twice and also was perfect on two stolen-base attempts to surpass 70 in her career.
 
Men’s Wrestling - Wrestler
The University of Providence’s Eli Walston was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Walston, the 15th-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds, went 3-0 at the Nampa Collegiate Invite. The senior from Columbus, Mont., picked up two pins and a major decision at the event.
 
Women’s Wrestling - Wrestler
No. 16-ranked University of Providence’s Emily Lorring was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Lorring, a 143-pound freshman from Kodiak, Ala., went 3-0 at the Nampa Collegiate Invite over the weekend. She finished with two pins under two minutes and added a 10-0 shutout technical fall as well.
 
Men’s Cross Country - Runner
College of Idaho’s Logan Hunt was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Hunt, a freshman from Athol, Idaho, had an outstanding performance, placing second overall at the C of I Ice Chipper at Mallard Park in his collegiate debut. He finished the 6K race with a time of 19 minutes, 45 seconds.
 
Women’s Cross Country - Runner
College of Idaho’s Erin Moyer was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Moyer, a senior from Carson City, Nev., won her second individual title of the season with a time of 14:54 in the 4K.
 
Men’s Indoor Track and Field – Field Athlete
College of Idaho’s Bryan Terry was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Terry, a senior from Winnemucca, Nev., dominated the throws at the C of I Ice Breaker #1, breaking the C of I school record in the weight throw, recording a Top-16 mark in the NAIA with a mark of 17.30 meters. He also threw the shot put 15.57 meters for first place.
 
Men’s Indoor Track and Field – Track Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Cody Milmine was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Milmine, a sophomore from Buffalo, Wyo., was quick out of the blocks in the 60-meter prelims. running a 6.91-second race to tie for the top spot in program history. Not satisfied with sharing first, Milmine found another gear in the finals and crossed the finish line in 6.83 seconds to leave himself alone at No.1 in school history for the 60. His winning time is currently seventh fastest in the NAIA. Feeding off the momentum from dominating the 60, Milmine posted a blistering time of 21.70 seconds and took over not one but two school records.
 
Women’s Indoor Track and Field – Field Athlete
College of Idaho’s Catylynn Duff was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Duff, a junior from Culver, Ore., had a record-breaking performance in the weight throw at the C of I Ice Breaker, grabbing a mark of 17.73 meters. It is the No. 2 mark in the NAIA this winter and broke Duff’s previous school record in the event, which she set last year. She also had a personal-best throw in the shot put with a mark of 12.33 meters.
 
Women’s Indoor Track and Field – Track Athlete
EOU’s Jasmine Devers was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Devers, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, posted a prelim time of 7.75 seconds in the 60-meter, which is currently 11th-best in the NAIA. She took first in the event and continued her record setting day as she blazed across the finish line in 24.62 seconds to take over the all-time No. 1 spot in program history in the 200-meter event.
 
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Oregon Tech’s Amy Morikawa was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Morikawa, a five-foot-seven senior defender from Fullerton, Calif., helped Oregon Tech open the season with a dominating 7-0 victory over Simpson University. She anchored the Owl defense that only allowed one shot the entire game.
 
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech’s Maddie Miller was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Miller, a five-foot-eight sophomore midfielder from Oregon City, Ore., scored a hat trick in the Owls’ dominating 7-0 victory over Simpson University to open the season.
 
Women’s Volleyball - Attacker
No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech’s Nicole Reyes was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Reyes, a five-foot-seven junior outside hitter from Fairfield, Calif., helped the Owls go 3-0 to open the season. She finished the week with 3.33 kills and 1.75 digs per set averages. She was a threat at the line, finishing with seven aces and helping OIT grab 11-straight points from the service line. Reyes boasted a .243 attack percentage over the three matches.
