WWU Hosts Walla Walla Invitational

Walla Walla, Wash. – The WWU cross country team made history Friday, hosting its first-ever meet. College of Idaho and Multnomah University joined the Wolves on a sunny afternoon at Fort Walla Walla Museum.

Only six total runners raced in the 5K meet, as Shiloh Najjar and Anais Mills of Multnomah went 1-2, running times of 19:20.0 and 20:18.0, respectively. Megan McManus and Bree Lewis of College of Idaho and Ally Stonas, the lone runner for the Wolves, rounded out the top five, while Claire Imbrock of Multnomah finished in sixth place.
Men's Results
The No. 16-Ranked Yotes were led by Logan Hunt, as 10 of the 11 Yote runners finished in the top ten in the 8K event. Hunt was the individual winner, running a time of 26:23.8.
Multnomah was led by Austin Barker(11th) and Izak Garza(14th), who ran times of 30:47.4 and 31:22.0, respectively, to lead the Lions to a second-place team finish.
The Wolves, runnings as individuals, were led by Josiah Buster(12th) and Benjamin Griffin(15th), who ran times of 30:56.8 and 31:59.8, respectively.
The Wolves will continue their season next Friday, March 19, when they host again at Fort Walla Walla Museum. The Lions and Yotes will prepare for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on March 26, hosted by Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho.
