ASHLAND – A week removed from a scoreless season-opening road trip, the Southern Oregon University women's soccer team enjoyed a therapeutic offensive outburst Sunday at Raider Stadium.

Four different Raiders notched goals and Mia Santander assisted two of them as SOU picked up its first win, 4-0 over Bushnell in Cascade Conference action.

On a windy afternoon in front of a fan-free grandstand, Sarah Mauk opened the floodgates in the 41st minute by taking Santander's pass and firing from 18 yards out over Beacons keeper Makenna Haddaler. SOU (1-1-1 CCC) went on to post a 22-3 shots advantage in the second half – 32-3 for the game – and Madison Childers made it 2-0 five minutes into it, chipping in a shot set up by Ruth Hegstad.

Santander was awarded a second assist on Kiani Pandoliano's towering shot that parachuted down and snuck under the post in the 74th minute, and Jasmine Gray assisted Natalie Paul's capper in the 87th.

Haddaler was stellar with 11 saves but couldn't overcome the lopsided attack. Childers, Mauk and Pandoliano each put three shots on goal. SOU also had seven corner kicks to the Beacons' zero.

Raider keeper Jessie Selby needed just two saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

Bushnell dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

The Raiders are unbeaten in 16 all-time matchups with the Beacons.

The teams will complete their season series at 1 p.m. Monday.
