KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Noe Favila from No. 20-ranked Corban University was named the NAIA National Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. It marked the second week in a row a Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athlete won the award.
Favila, a five-foot-nine senior forward, made a strong impression in his first two games for the Warriors. He picked off a careless switching pass from an Eastern Oregon University defender and beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one breakaway for his first goal of the season last Monday. After scoring in his Corban debut, he notched a hat trick in the Warriors' dominant 12-0 win over Multnomah University, while also dishing out an assist.
The Carlsbad, Calif., native currently leads the Warriors with four goals and is a very efficient striker with all five of his shots so far going on goal.
