ASHLAND – Warner Pacific's hot start continued Sunday at Raider Stadium, where David Uribe's penalty kick was the difference in the Knights' 1-0 win over Southern Oregon in Cascade Conference play.

In the 32nd minute, Arturo Bahena retrieved Christian Bahena's through-ball from midfield for a breakaway, but was tackled from behind by Raider defender Zak Woolley in the box. A yellow card was assessed, a PK awarded, and Uribe tapped his second goal of the season just inside the right post.

The Knights, who finished 11th in the conference last season, streaked to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the CCC. The Raiders fell to 2-1.

Woolley's yellow card was one of six issued during the testy matchup, which also saw 32 foul calls and a 30-minute halftime delay for a referee replacement due to an injury.

The teams were evenly-matched before and after the delay, both totaling 14 shots.

SOU – which went 16 games between being shut out dating back to last season – had four shots on goal. Knights keeper Alexis Calderilla-Hurtado saved each of them for the team's fifth clean sheet.

The rematch is set for 3:30 p.m. Monday.
