Corban Holds Off Eagles, 1-0
KIRKLAND – Northwest allowed one goal and had its Cascade Collegiate Conference unbeaten string halted by Corban, 1-0, Sunday.
Skyla Vogelpohl was credited with the lone goal in the sixth minute.
Northwest had eight shots and five shots on goal for the afternoon, including five shots and four shots on goal by Callie Wright. Anna Lau also had a shot on goal for the Eagles.
“We knew that today would be a tough test for us, and it was a physical battle for sure,” said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. “We gave up a soft goal early, and just couldn’t find the necessary quality in the final third to find an equalizer. I’m proud of the heart and desire we displayed though, and we’ll battle hard again tomorrow!”
Kierstin Patefield turned away two Corban shots in the game.
The Eagles drop to 3-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the CCC’s West Division.
The same two teams meet again at 1 p.m., Monday.
