ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University women's soccer team did just enough to post its fifth consecutive shutout and second consecutive 1-0 defeat of Warner Pacific on Monday afternoon at Raider Stadium.

Cassandra Kohler gave the Raiders a spark off the bench in their fourth straight Cascade Conference victory, depositing the lone goal in the 38th minute. They improved to 4-1-1 as a result and set up two key matchups against first-place Oregon Tech in a week.

Kohler, a senior from Henderson, Nev., had been on the field for less than 10 minutes when Natalie Paul directed a ball into the box that was deflected by a Knights defender and accidentally landed with Kohler wide of the left post. With more than enough space, Kohler lined up a 15-yard shot and curled it inside the right post for her first goal since 2018.

The Raiders dominated possession for the second straight day and had 23 shots to WPU's five, giving them a lopsided 47-5 combined advantage for the back-to-back, but didn't take advantage of any other chances.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ashlynn Hernandez took care of the only three shots the Knights (1-7 overall, 0-6 CCC) put on target, securing her third shutout of the season.

Knights keeper Isabell Bauer had seven saves. Mia Santader led the Raiders with two shots on goal, and with a couple minutes left in the match missed a shot off the crossbar.

The Raiders have shut out the Knights in four consecutive matchups and topped them in seven straight dating back to 2015.

They'll go from playing four games in a row against Bushnell and WPU – which have combined to go 0-12 in conference play – to finishing their regular-season schedule with four straight against Oregon Tech and Corban, which are tied for the CCC's top spot with matching 5-1 record.
