Under Armour Team of the Week Announced
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Lewis-Clark State cross-country team and The College of Idaho women’s cross-country team have been selected as the “Under Armour Teams of the Week” for March 22-28 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
No. 4-ranked College of Idaho successfully defended their crown by winning the women’s 5k championship. The Coyotes finished with 33 points with all five scoring runners finishing in the top 15 earning all-conference honors. The Coyotes were led by Ellyse Tingelstad (17:46) - 3
rd, followed by Larissa Mauer (17:47) -4
th, Erin Moyer (17:52) – 7
th, Sage Martin (17:55) – 8
th, and Abby Shirts (18:01) – 11
th.
In addition to repeating as champions the win marks the seventh title for the women’s program tying them with Eastern Oregon for most among CCC programs.
League newcomer No. 11-ranked LC State claimed its first-ever CCC men’s title and Cole Olsen grabbed the individual title with a time of 24:18 over the 8k home course. The Warriors scored 54 points to edge No. 17 Oregon Tech. In addition to Olsen the Warriors scorers included Clayton Vandyke (24:49) – 3
rd, Chris Barrow (25:14) – 9
th, Connor Turpin (24:45) – 19
th, and Andrew Larson (26:02) – 22
nd. Olsen, Vandyke and Barrow earned all-conference honors.
The College of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State have earned the conference automatic qualifications to the NAIA National Championships that will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Friday April 9.
