2021 NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championship Recap – Day One

WICHITA, Kan. — [Brackets | Team Scores] After a hard fought first day, Grand View (Iowa) finds itself in a familiar position, resting atop the team standings with 98.0 points at the conclusion of Friday. Life University (Ga.) pushed the nine-time national champions throughout the day including holding a slight edge in the team race after the conclusion of the quarterfinals. The Running Eagles totaled 95.5 points after day one.
Both Life and Grand View had ten student-athletes earn All-America status. The Running Eagles have seven wrestlers in the semifinals tomorrow while the Vikings have four.
Vanguard University leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference teams with 22.5 points to sit in 16th place. Eastern Oregon University isn't too far behind in 18th with 18.5 points. The University of Providence has 14 points for 21st place, while Arizona Christian University is in 27th place with 10.5 points and Corban University is in 30th place with 8.5 points. Warner Pacific University (33rd, 7.5 points) and Southern Oregon University (39th, 3.5 points) round out the CCC teams.
