Oregon Tech's Payton Canon
EAGLE POINT, Ore. – Oregon Tech's Payton Canon took home medalist honors for the women, while Tech's Mayson Tibbs won the men's tournament as they both led their teams to the Spring Invite Championships at Eagle Point Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.

"This was a great way for us to kick off this season," said interim head coach Justin Wiles. "Both teams showed some rust but also showed some really good play. It's always a good feeling to sweep the team and individual titles at a tournament. Although we ended up winning I think we have a good idea of what we need to work on for the coming events."

After shooting a first round 73, Canon fired a second round 77 to win the tournament by five strokes over Lauren Hamm of Corban University. Tech's Aerin Song was third followed by fellow Owl Grace Hull. No. 15 Oregon Tech won the women's tournament by 23 strokes over Lewis-Clark State.

The Owls will next head to Lewis-Clark State College March 22 and 23 in Lewiston, Idaho.
