KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech (4-0, 2-0 CCC West) got two goals from sophomore Maddie Miller (#13 Pictured) as she led the Owls to a 3-0 win over Warner Pacific (1-3, 0-2 CCC West) to complete a two game sweep of the Knights.
Miller scored her first goal in the 23
rd minute putting back a shot by Abigail Herbert that had hit the cross bar.
Miller then added her team high 6
th goal of the season just two-minutes into the second half as she took a pass from Kyra Mull and scored from just inside the box.
Herbert then scored her second goal of the season, taking a Mull pass and finishing for goal from inside the box in the 49
th minute.
The OIT defense was very solid on the day, not allowing a single shot on goal led by senior and All-CCC First Teamer Amy Morikawa.
For the game, Tech had a huge 20-0 advantage in shots and dominated shots on goal 10-0.
"It's very difficult to beat a team two days in a row," said Owl head coach
Casey Tate. "Warner Pacific was organized very well behind the ball and made it very difficult for us. Miller got a good goal to put us up 1-0. We talked about coming out strong in the second half and to score two goals in the first four minutes was exactly that! Maddie smashes in a goal and Herbert scored a fantastic left footed goal. All the backs led by Morikawa were able to keep them from getting any shots and that speaks loudly to how well we played."
The Lady Owls will next head to Salem to face Corban University (2-1, 2-0 CCC West) on Sunday and Monday March 14 and 15
th respectively.
