HELENA, Mont. The Carroll College Softball team took one of two in a double-header against Bushnell University on Friday afternoon at Centennial Park. Carroll fell in the first game by a final score of 8-2 before bouncing back with a 10-6 victory in the second game.

In the first game, it was Carroll who got off to the hot start. The Saints jumped on the Beacons, scoring two runs in the first inning. The bats of the Beacons heated up in the top of the third inning, as they pushed five runs across the plate to grab the lead. From there, Bushnell ran away with the game, winning by a final score of 8-2.  Anna Davidson, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, had both RBIs for the Saints.

Game two was the opposite of the first, this time with Bushnell jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. After falling behind 5-0 heading into the bottom of the third, the Saints began to rally. In the next four frames, Carroll rattled off ten unanswered runs, before the Beacons scored one in the seventh to total a 10-6 final score. Emma Hamilton, a junior from Lexington, KY., led the Saints with three RBIs on three hits. Fellow junior, Amber Brewer, also had three hits with two RBIs to go with.

Due to a weather forecast of high winds on Saturday, the start times of the games have been moved up to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Centennial Park. Only the first game of the double-header is a conference game.
