CORVALLIS, Ore. – The first weekend of the 2021 Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Thursday. The Multi Events Championship kicks off at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore., with the rest of the championship meet taking place at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Ore., May 14-15.

The men’s decathlon gets the meet going with the 100-meter dash as the first of the 10 events, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific on Thursday. The long jump, shot put, high jump and 400-meter events follow, starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous event.
Friday gets started with the 100-meter high hurdles, followed by the discus, pole vault, and javelin, before the 1500-meter closes out the events.
Fifteen men are set to compete in the event, including EOU’s TJ Davis, who owns the fifth-best score in the NAIA right now: 6286 points for an NAIA ‘A’ qualifying mark. Fellow Mountaineer Sam Roddewig ranks 13
th in the NAIA with a 5823, also an automatic qualifying mark. College of Idaho’s Caleb Brown has the ninth-best mark in the NAIA with 6030 points, also for an ‘A’ mark. SOU’s Solomon Tinnon hopes to build on his collegiate debut. He currently ranks No. 16 on the NAIA list with a 5720.
On the women’s side, the heptathlon is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., beginning with the 100-meter hurdles. The high jump, shot put and 200-meter follow, starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous event.
Friday opens with the long jump, before the athletes compete in the javelin and close with the 800-meter run.
Fifteen women will compete for the heptathlon championship. SOU’s Camdyn Bruner will be one to look out for as she currently leads the CCC with the ninth-best mark in the NAIA: 4211 for an ‘A’ mark. EOU’s Olivia Lane isn’t far behind, sitting at No. 12 on the list with a 4099. Warner Pacific University’s Savannah Proske looks to make a run for the title, sitting 18
th on the NAIA list at 4009, also an automatic mark.
