OIT Scores Late to Beat Eagles, 2-1
KIRKLAND – Northwest rallied late to tie the game, but Oregon Tech got a quick response to defeat the Eagles 2-1 Monday.
"Give credit to Oregon Tech; they came out and played with energy and scrappiness today," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We have to learn how to show up for every game. It's something we'll keep working on, and we will keep trying to get better. Tomorrow's a new day; hopefully we can get it done."
Brock Rideout put the Owls ahead in the seventh minute, collecting a rebound from a shot by Jake Mitchell and finding the net.
That stood up until Seito Gao tied the game in the 84th minute with an assist from Leon Bormann.
Rideout tempered the NU excitement with his second goal just 16 seconds later.
Northwest had six shots in the game–one each by Gao, Kyle Han, Tyler Hopp, Elliot Misic, Noah Prophet, and Angel Trejo-Delgado. Gao and Hopp had shots on goal.
Alexander Thiehofe had four saves for NU.
The teams conclude the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
