Wellman Receives NAIA Grant for Women LeadersInstitute for Administrative Advancement
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference’s Sammi Wellman was selected as a recipient of the NAIA Women Leaders in College Sports Grant for the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Institute for Administrative Advancement (IAA).
"I'm really excited and honored to receive the NAIA Women Leaders in College Sports IAA Grant," said Wellman. "I can't wait for the institute to learn from incredible women in the business and grow personally and professionally."
A former NAIA student-athlete, Wellman joined the CCC in June 2019 and was promoted to Director of Communications last year. In 2017, Wellman was named a WoSIDA Woman to Watch and is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She has served on numerous CoSIDA committees and was elected to the NAIA-SIDA Board of Directors in 2020.
Each year the NAIA awards this grant to assist women in the NAIA membership attend Women Leaders career advancement programming at the Institute for Administrative Advancement. The IAA is the premier "level one" leadership development program for women in intercollegiate athletics administration. The program is geared toward preparing women to improve work skills specific to athletic administration, develop strategies toward career advancement, network, and discover the best version of professional- and personal-self for each attendee.
