OIT Thwarts Northwest in Double Overtime
KIRKLAND – Brock Rideout headed home a corner kick from Jake Mitchell midway through the second overtime to give Oregon Tech a 1-0 double-overtime win over Northwest Tuesday in both teams’ Cascade Collegiate Conference finale.
“We played better today, and the energy was there,” said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. “We missed a few good opportunities to score and we need to be more clinical in our finishing. There are still times that we are not playing as a team and we need to continue to work on that part of our game.”
The Eagles got off nine shots, led by Tyler Hopp with five. Hopp also had both of NU’s shots on goal.
Northwest got eight saves from keeper Brandon Karberg.
After the game, NU honored its two seniors, Karberg and Leon Bormann.
