Beacons’ Martin, Northern Grab NAIA Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bushnell University’s Natalie Martin and Makenna Northern were named the NAIA Volleyball Attacker and Setter of the Week, respectively, the national office announced Tuesday. 
 
Martin, a six-foot-one senior middle blocker from Pleasant Hill, Ore., led the Beacons to a 2-0 week and set a new Bushnell single-match record for attack percentage on Friday (.842) and scored over a third of the team's points. She posted 5.17 kills per set and 12 blocks on the weekend as the Beacons finished tied for third in the CCC, their highest finish in school history.
 
 
Northern, a five-foot-nine junior setter from Brownsville, Ore., led the Beacon offense to a combined .405 attack percentage on the weekend. She posted 76 assists over the two matches to average 12.67 assists per set. Northern also had 2.83 digs and 1.00 blocks per set averages to lift Bushnell twice over Warner Pacific University.
