• EOU went 12-23 from beyond the arc to finish at 52.2%, while Pacific was 14-27 for 51.9%. The Boxers' bench had the edge in this game outscoring EOU's bench 48-22, but a 207 advantage in fast break points and a 40-30 edge in points in the paint helped EOU finish on top.

Pacific jumped ahead 8-2 early on but the Mountaineers slowly chipped away at the lead and battled back to a 14-all tie at midway point of the frame.

• Eastern used a quick 8-2 run in the first two minutes of the second quarter to grab a 32-25 lead. Pacific fought back and got within three at 34-31 before back-to-back three pointers by Eastern made it a 40-31 game.
• The two triples by the Mountaineers ultimately sparked a 15-0 run that opened up their lead to 18 points at 49-31. The Boxers managed to get back within single digits a few times in the latter half of the second quarter but went into the break trailing 55-45.
• The high scoring affair from the first half did not slow down in the second half of action. The Mountaineers and Boxers both scored 20-plus in the third with EOU having the edge at 28-25. The 15-0 run from the second was the difference as the Mountaineers led by double digits the rest of the contest.
• Eastern led by as much as 20 in the third quarter and never allowed the Boxers to get back within single digits. They took an 83-70 lead into the fourth quarter and it was in that frame where EOU shined.
