2021 Spring All-CCC Men’s Basketball Awards Released

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Due to state and county regulations revolving around the coronavirus, only two Cascade Collegiate Conference basketball teams were capable of competing during the original 2020-21 season. After the seven remaining CCC teams competed in a spring season, the 2021 Spring All-CCC Men’s Basketball awards were released Thursday morning.
 
Eastern Oregon University’s Max McCullough and Bushnell University’s Stevie Schlabach were named Co-Players of the Spring, while Southern Oregon University’s Tez Allen grabbed Defensive Player of the Spring. Warner Pacific University’s Isaac Etter picked up Newcomer of the Spring and Corban University’s Kendall Moore nabbed Freshman of the Spring. Warrior head coach Taylor Kelly was named Coach of the Spring.
 
McCullough, a redshirt senior guard from Post Falls, Idaho has been part of a Mountie squad that has gone 85-43 in five years and picked up the 2021 CCC Co-Player of the Spring honor. He currently stands as the EOU career leader in points scored and is the only player in history to eclipse 2,000 career points at 2,061. This Spring, McCullough averaged 21.1 points (third in the CCC) and 5.2 rebounds per game. He has 104 assists under his belt (first in the CCC), along with 32 steals.
 
Schlabach, a sophomore guard from Tigard, Ore., finished a solid Spring campaign where he averaged 21.3 points (second in the CCC) and 5.3 rebounds per game, earning himself CCC Co-Player of the Spring honors. An efficient shooter, Schlabach boasted a .559 field-goal percentage, including .452 from three-point range. He dished out 15 assists on the year, while defensively making 12 blocks and grabbing 10 steals.
 
Allen, a redshirt junior guard from Carson City, Nev., played a big part in helping the Raiders finish third in the Spring race and win the CCC Defensive Player of the Spring honor. Off the boards, Allen averaged 8.3 rebounds per game (fourth in the CCC), including 7.4 defensive boards per contest (first in the CCC). He also had 11 blocked shots and 17 steals, while offensively averaging 13.6 points per game.
 
Etter, a junior guard from Los Angeles, transferred to WPU after two seasons at Glendale Community College. He found his rhythm with the Knights right away, starting all 13 games and scoring in double figures in all but two to earn himself CCC Newcomer of the Spring. Etter finished the year averaging 15.9 points per game, with 3.5 rebounds per game, 33 assists and 17 steals.
 
Moore, a freshman guard from Dayton, Ohio, finished a solid rookie campaign to earn himself CCC Freshman of the Spring recognition. He led the Warriors with 14.0 points per game and averaged 3.3 rebounds per game. Moore dished out 56 assists and had a conference-high 38 steals on the season in 18 games to help Corban win the spring.
 
Kelly joined the Corban staff in the summer of 2020 and led the Warriors to win the 2021 CCC Spring Championship with a 10-2 conference mark. He was voted on by his peers as the CCC Coach of the Spring in his first season as a head coach and saw two players earn All-CCC Spring honors.
