CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following four CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period May 10-16, 2021.
Men’s Outdoor – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Allexander Kosel was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Kosel, a junior from Roberts, Mont., was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Meet after dominating the jumps at the CCC Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank. He won the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters, then went on to claim the triple jump in 14.06m. Kosel closed out the meet with a first-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 7.10m. With all three championships, Kosel also grabbed All-CCC honors.
Men’s Outdoor – Track Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Cody Milmine was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Milmine, a sophomore from Buffalo, Wyo., was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Meet at the CCC Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, over the weekend. He competed in five events, finishing in the top four of all, including four top-two finishes. Milmine won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.53 seconds and took home the gold in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 21.73 seconds. He took second in the 400m (49.27) and helped the Mounties win the 4x100 relay in 41.82 seconds. Milmine also helped the EOU 4x400 relay team take fourth (3:23.16).
Women’s Outdoor – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Olivia Lane was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Lane, a senior from Clarkston, Wash., was named the Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet at the CCC Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank. She was all over the meet, competing in a variety of events. Lane took second in the heptathlon with a score of 4,419 points to grab All-CCC honors. She added another all-conference performance with a third-place finish in the high jump (1.55m) and took fifth in the long jump (5.36m). Lane also competed in the triple jump, hurdles and a relay for the Mounties.
Women’s Outdoor – Track Athlete
College of Idaho’s Larissa Mauer was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Mauer, a junior from Spring Creek, Nev., was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet after an amazing weekend at the CCC Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank. She doubled on Friday, winning both the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:07.83) and the 10K (38:48.87). Less than 24 hours later, Mauer secured her third championship with a win in the 5K, beating her competition by 16 seconds (17:58.28).
