CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University’s Jet Taylor was selected to represent the Cascade Collegiate Conference and the sport of Women’s Volleyball as a member of the Association of Student-Athletes (ASA), announced Monday by the conference office. Taylor’s term will last through May 31, 2023.

“I am very excited about Jet's appointment to the ASA," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "Her enthusiasm, compassion and genuine desire to serve the conference, as well as the NAIA, make her an excellent addition to this important committee.”

The Rigby, Idaho, native just finished her junior season on the Mounties’ volleyball team, helping EOU finish the regular season undefeated at 15-0 overall and 14-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play en route to a sixth regular-season conference title in the last seven years. In the NAIA National Championships, EOU posted a 3-1 record, winning in the opening round and going undefeated in pool play before bowing out in the quarterfinals.

Taylor is a two-time All-CCC selection and was named one of the Mounties’ two SAAC representatives to start the year. Taylor was then voted as Vice Chair of the committee and initiated the CCC-SAAC Newsletter, bringing news from the conference to the student-athletes.

The ASA is an Article IX Association under the Council of Student-Athletes (CSA). The CSA is part of the NAIA governance structure, joining the Council of Presidents, National Administrative Council and Council of Faculty Athletics Representatives as the NAIA’s primary governing councils. The purpose of the ASA is to provide NAIA student-athletes with a voice in the governance of the NAIA while incorporating the ideals of Champions of Character. The ASA allows student-athletes to have input on the issues that directly impact them every day.
