Knights Run and Throw Multiple Personal Bests at Trio of Meets

PORTLAND | The Warner Pacific University track and field teams had athletes in three different meets over the last few days, competing at George Fox University in Newberg, the University of Oregon in Eugene and finally at the Portland Twilight meet in Portland at Lewis and Clark College.
The Run Down
Senior thrower Jake Brauchler started things off Thursday at the Frank Haskins Invite at George Fox University by finishing fourth in the men's shot with a new personal best of 12.91m (42' 4.25"), then finished seventh in the men's hammer with another personal best of 43.32m (142' 1"). Brauchler's hammer mark is the second best mark in school history while his shot mark is #3 all-time for WPU.
The next day, Savannah Proske and Jett Pharn-Cromb competed at the Oregon Twilight meet in Eugene, with Proske finishing second in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60m (5' 3") and also finished 5
th in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.24m (17' 2.25"). Pharn-Cromb finished 9
th in the men's 100m with a time of 11.14 seconds.
On Saturday, four more Knights competed at the Portland Twilight meet at Lewis and Clark College. Indya Price had a big day setting a two second personal best of 2:17.99 in the 800m and also doubled back in the 1500m, running 4:54.24 for another personal best by three seconds. Kynzie DeLeon, not to be outdone by her teammate, ran a five second personal best of 4:53.54 in the 1500 as well, just edging out Price in that event. Price's 800 time is the second best in school history and DeLeon's 1500m time is also second best in school history while Price's 1500 time is third best all-time. On the men's side, freshman Cade Kooch ran an eight second personal best of 4:07.26, moving way up the conference list and into the #7 spot in school history.

Next up for the Knights is the Cascade Conference Championships at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon starting next Friday, May 14 and continuing through Saturday, May 15.
